Unbowed Wilfried Nancy insists he is not worried about dismissal however supporters show anger following defeat.
The under-pressure manager insisted he had no concerns about the sack, maintaining, “The team is very near to changing our fortunes,” despite moving dangerously close to the chopping block with a convincing defeat by their arch-rivals.
A Second-Half Meltdown Leads to Derby Defeat
The home side were in front their oldest rivals at half-time but a disastrous second period allowed the Gers to move level on points with the reigning league title holders. Nancy, who was appointed from the MLS, has now been in charge for six setbacks in eight games.
“There is unity at the club,” said the manager.
Asked directly about whether he was concerned, he replied: “It’s not on my mind. My focus is on discovering solutions to aid my players to be good on the fine details.

“The performance we had at certain moments was really, really, really high. That is a fact. I could not talk like that if it was untrue. Therefore, when it comes to wins, I noted it's a repeating pattern. For that reason I feel a change is coming to getting it right. But for the moment: the fine margins.”
“I saw many, many good things that we did, once more. The issue now it’s about sustaining it. My outlook would change the same. This is why I firmly believe we’re going to be able to get back on track.”
Röhl’s Cautious Outlook
The victorious boss refused to contemplate a championship push despite what seemed like a huge result. “Step by step, so we can develop a challenge,” he said. “The faith in the group is immense.”
