Uche Sparks Comfortable Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their maiden European campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Without key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually guarantees them a place in the Conference League playoffs.

Another three points in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct entry to the knockout stages, especially after a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Opportunity

This occasion provided a platform for several Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
