Former President Trump stated on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He mentioned that he spoke to her parents and they were “devastated”.

US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have taken place in their remembrance.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a White House visit for the parents of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president told reporters. “And in the same way with him, no matter the outcome.”

Community Support

Attendees assembled over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist public safety in DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers wished for. She behaved with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always eager to help others.”

Funeral plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Law enforcement have accused a 29-year-old suspect with one count of murder and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The tragedy prompted the Trump administration to pause asylum applications and cease providing visas to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, according to the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Morrisey mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she planned to meet with his relatives.

Impact of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with distinction, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” the governor addressed the crowd at the service. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
