Star Refutes Anti-Vaccine Position After Narrating Controversial Covid Documentary

The "Taken" star has lent his narration to a new documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of vaccines and commends former health official RFK Jr.

The Documentary's Provocative Basis

Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a popular book written by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for claims that the virus was linked to a faulty batch of the influenza shot.

Her writing partner, the executive producer, has penned books with conspiracy-prone media personality the Infowars host. The producer wrote online celebrating Neeson's participation in the film.

A Firm Denial

Representatives for the actor have released a comment pushing back against implications that he subscribes to anti-immunization views.

"Many acknowledge that misconduct can exist within the medical sector, but that must not be equated to rejection of vaccines," the comment states. "Neeson is not, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His considerable work with Unicef reinforces his long-held support for public-health initiatives."

It continued that the actor had no hand in the project's messaging and that inquiries about its assertions are best addressed to the creators.

Central Assertions In the Feature

As presented, the voiceover spoken by Neeson includes several strong claims:

  • It claims that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "unconditional submission" to public institutions.
  • It declares that "medical science has become highly influenced by politics."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured saying, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't safely tested."
  • The narration also criticizes pandemic restrictions, claiming they caused psychological harm that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • Concerning Covid vaccines, it mentions a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Previous Controversy and Ongoing Disputes

The documentary includes a historical film about AIDS medication trials on children, which was subsequently the topic of a correction by the network for editorial breaches.

In recent weeks, Kennedy directed the national health agency to revise its longstanding position that there is no link between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is echoed in the documentary, despite a new report from the World Health Organisation confirming no connection has been found.

A Previous Statement of Advocacy

Standing in contrast to the film's tone, Neeson has previously expressed strong support for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.

Previously, he described vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in lately has forgotten how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."

The film finishes with Neeson's script stating, "This isn't the conclusion of our narrative. Rather, it is the start of a fresh chapter."
