A fatal railway accident in the Mexican state of Oaxaca has claimed the lives of at least 13 people, an incident expected to reignite critical opposition regarding the speed and execution of the country's major infrastructure initiatives.
The disaster took place on the Interoceanic Corridor train, a rail link constructed to join the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific across the narrowest part of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. “We are going to meticulously determine the cause of this incident,” declared the country's president.
